They should have been enemies, but murder like politics makes for strange bedfellows

Jonathan was a member of the Office of Public Security, the quasi-military organization that replaced the FBI after the coup. Ellie was a Constutionist, a member of the resistance movement dedicated to overthrowing the dictatorship now running the country.

After being captured by one of Jonathan’s patrols, Ellie thought she was bound for the west coast penal colonies. But Jonathan had something else in mind. He wanted Ellie’s resistance cell to help him apprehend a serial killer.

Being shanghaied to assist with a murder investigation was bad enough, but the killer turned out to be something far more horrifying than a simple murderer. Then there was the fact that now that she was on the other side of the fence, Ellie realized everything she thought she knew about the OPS was wrong.

The race was on. Jonathan and Ellie needed to find the killer before he struck again because “dismember Ellie’ was the next item on the killer’s to-do list
